Is it help for Xbox 360 to prevent from overheat? or not need one?

Some will say no. Some will say yeah. I say yeah, but not the Nyko Intercooler. Try a different brand, the Pelician, since it draws power through the USB port instead of directly from power like Nyko Intercooler does. I had good time with Nyko Intercooler until it recently shut down after 10-15 minutes repeatedly. So I removed the Nyko Intercooler and I have had no problems since. It also seems Microsoft has a better fan in the 360's that are in stores now, snice they will replace any console made before 2005 for free. So that leads me to assume any xbox360 made in 2006 should be running excellent.

Well I had mine at launch and well even I did use the intercooler with it, it was pretty useful but for some reason the discs were pretty warm after afew hours of gameplay that I played on my console like dead rising for afew hours and I take it out and the disc was pretty warm and I was like wtf?? I thought the intercooler would improve that and I also noticed that running Xbox360 games on it makes it warmer than orginal Xbox games do and thats because of a different dvd drive Xbox360 have and it spins a whole lot faster than the orginal Xbox's dvd drive. Then after I was experiencing problems with my launch console such as freezing alot, etc...then exchanged for a replacement.
and I got to say, I think it runs alot better than the launch console did since mine wasufactured in July 2006 while I remember the launch console was manufactured in October 2005...ouch I think that was too early...so, I used the same intercooler on the replacement, and the games were suprising cool for both Xbox and Xbox360 games so I hope this is a much improved console around than the last console I had anyway. So I still would say intercooler is a recommendation.

Why?

because the Xbox360 fan engine only blows the heat outside of the console but dont have any fan engines to blow the hardware INSIDE the console so thats what intercooler are made for.

But its your choice and good luck.

Nyko Intercooler sucks air from the back of the xbox and blows it out, while Pelician's cooler blows air into the bottom(if you have it standing up) of the system.
IMO the Nyko Intercooler is better and more stronger, BUT I dislike how it draws from the XBOX's power supply. Pelician's cooler uses a USB so it doesn't draw directly from the power supply that the XBox needs. I read a few discussions on another forum and saw that some had bad experiences with the Nyko Intercooler, and I did too. Some did mention that it was possible to modify the Nyko Intercooler to draw power from a separate source, and to allow full power to the Xbox while still cooling the box.. Looks like Nyko needs to redesgin their Intercooler.

Well, there are depends bad and good. Mine with nyko intercooler. I never had a problem. I dislike huge block on back, but no choice. It went really well with it. Hopefully, it will change. You can get cheaper cooler for now like pelican cooler. I heard it does not any problem. Nyko intercooler is highly reccomendation.

Have fun with xbox 360.

I tried the intercooler on my 1st 360, but it wont fit in even though I plugged both in tighter than a flea's ass. I gave up on it so I just left the intercooler off and played the 1st 360 until my dvd drive failed.

Now with the 2nd 360, it is sitting on a stand with a screen on bottom for ventilation under my desk. It has enormous space to keep it cool and I havent overheated it since I had the 2nd one.
