Does HTC devices would work with PS3, such as able to connect on network and less to demand on router or cable/DSL modem? I know it is already worked on computer or laptop via USB and bluetooth but how about PS3?

3G is so hot for sure but concern about latency on online gaming, such as counted in ms (ping).

If so then would be good news for people who don't have cable or DSL subscribe.

that is possible if you develop a network program for ps3 to be tethered to 3G mobile. i googled everything and there is none i can find.

why dont you develop it ? :)

You probably can connect cellphone to desktop computer usb and run a network sharing program on desktop computer and connect PS3 to computer ethernet or a router from a computer (I don't own a PS3 but I assume PS3 have ethernet port on it?)

I have use internet or play games on my desktop computer or my laptop several times with my AT&T plugged in usb port with no problem. Sometime during thunderstorm my DSL goes down and I plug in my 8525 to my desktop computer to keep using internet or play games.

But all cell carriers Sprint/Verzion/AT&T/Tmoblie etc have rules againist using their data services as a full time broadband connection to replace your cable modem or dsl service or using it as a dedicated data connecitons.

Because cell radio tower can only handle so much traffic and connections from phones that users can tied it up and other folks wouldn't be able to connect to it due to heavy traffic.

However in future there will be a wireless internet called WiMax which companies is considering investing into and it will give you broadband wireless internet over long distances.

Oh, I got it and it is called ICS. (internet connection sharing)

Really, I don't know that wireless carriers are against like that.

nah you are ok with that... ppl are using pc cards under these wireless carriers...

Yes but they are paying the 80+ dollar data plans that allow them to use those aircards. There no reason to drop cable or dsl for a higher priced data plans.

I am talking about tethering from a cellphone with a cheap unlimited data plans and staying connect all the time downloading movies or playing a game etc.

Verzion are known to closed or drop data account on folks that had gone over 10gig in a month *even the plan says unlimited* but they started to cap their data to now only 5gig a month - Wireless: Verizon Admits Capping EVDO, Removes "Unlimited" From Marketing - Gizmodo

Sprint are known to lock data account that on folks that gone over 6gig a month and force them to call Sprint asking to unlock data so Sprint can issue a warning to them not to abuse bandwidth again etc. *even the plan says unlimited*

Sprint's ToS - PCS Terms & Conditions

Services are not available for use in connection with server devices or host computer applications, other systems that drive continuous heavy traffic or data sessions, or as substitutes for private lines or frame relay connections. Except with phone-as-modem plans, you may not use a phone (including a Bluetooth phone) on a plan with unlimited Vision/Power Vision as a modem in connection with a computer, PDA, or similar device. We reserve the right to deny or terminate service without notice for any misuse. Availability of downloadable or streaming content is subject to change."

Now Sprint deaf plan says we can be allow to use our phone as a modem so we deafie might be ok with that and allow to tether as much we want.

I have not yet seen any objections or complains about Cingular/AT&T or Tmoblie or Alltell issuing warnings or closing account on those massive data download or usages yet.

I am on Cingular/AT&T and I tether a lot to my laptop and I have not yet gotten a complains from AT&T from my data usage so I think they don't really care much either but I don't use that much data a month anyway. Maybe avarage 600mb to 800mb is all I use.

techbill, i learned something new. they didnt tell me about it.. heh... thanks !

sometimes i do look at my data usages on my bill. whoa. alot alot alot of MBs.

Wow, I'm not surprised.

I'm sure that would be totally unlimited and safer to have DSL or cable subscribe.

Bad idea. There is no limits DATA wireless unlike Cable/DSL/fiber.

It's true. My parents warned me about "unlimited from Verizon" Some their customer complained that their DATA plan got cut out by Verizon without warn or notice. That's happen last year. :( I think it's up to 2GB per month.
