Responsible pedigree dog breeders docked their newborn puppies using proper banding (with rubber band) or clipper scissors to procedures that involved little or no pain. For these puppies were less than 5 days old to follow this because they cannot feel their nervous systems.

Farmers still doing it to their lambs and calves for hygience reasons.

In WA (West Australia) it is ban to have it carried out on Rottiweller, Boxer and other few dogs, and some states of Australia will soon follow, it is going to upset the Pedigree Breeders, as they are unlikely to win prizes at dog shows etc.

Pedigree Breeders want to see it continue, but the RSCPA (Royal Society of Prevently Cruelty to Animails) said it is unnecessary to have docking and it is painful.

Soon or later, we will see Rottiweller, Boxer with their long tails for the first time since the 15th century!!

I remember witness some long tail Rottiweller dogs in Germany last July, and it looks so strange to me!

Farmers are allow to docking their animals but why can't the breeders do it the same to their dogs? I am interested to hear your comments and why.

Yeah, I saw many dogs with long tails in Germany since 1998. Example about Jack Russell, Boxer, etc.

It explain in the link why.

Many dogs will not be eligible to enter that show !!! Not only the BSL dogs.
Since Germany applied its new law, in total contradiction with European laws and FCI rules : NO CROPPED OR DOCKED DOG WILL BE ALLOWED TO COMPETE IN GERMAN SHOWS ANYMORE AND THIS APPLIES TO EVERY DOG, GERMAN OR FOREIGN !!!!!!

It will now be even more difficult for any continental dog to achieve an FCI International Champion Title and it is worth considering if Germany should be banned from holding any International Shows where the CACIB is awarded as so many foreigners won't be able to participate!

Boycott ? In fact, Germany has ensured that only home bred dogs can compete, a kind of "Lets have our own World Championship Special for Ourselves" !!!

To me, I dont beleive to use dogs or cats for the show for the contest but accept and love them in our family. I adopt them to live with us, not use them as "breeder" for the money and make contest to be Champion etc. We visited cat show once but never again. :( All what I saw cats stay in the cages and can see that the breeders thinking nothing but hope to be champion. Oh dear.

I also dont beleive to dock dogs's tail to make it look beautiful. I accept what they are because of their natural. Why should we change them into beautiful tail because of that contest in the show?

Before I use to dream to get the cats from the breeders until I realized it's not worth because stray cats and dogs are around and need good home. Look many homeless cats/dogs in pet house waiting for new owner to adopt them.

I'm not for dock the tails and dog or cat show.
