What I mean by DIY healthcare is when you are sick but you don't bother contacting a doctor. Either because you can't afford one, you don't think they will be much use, or simply don't like the idea of waiting four hours in an A and E.
So you simply try to make do without one.
Just curious if anyone has had to resort to that, what was wrong with them, and where they live (ie are they in USA or outside in a country with nationalized medicine).
