Hey anyone has direct tv? If so, do you subscribe to "Here!" channel? I was told from a rep. at Direct Tv that NOTHING is c.c.!! I wanted to post here and see if anyone has "Here!" channel on direct tv and if the shows there are c.c. or not...thanks!!!
 
If you're talking about here! Networks - a channel for the homosexual community. here! Networks is very new, so give them time to get all done. :)

Many of our current features and programming titles are Closed Captioned for the hard-of-hearing. This service, when available, will be noted in the program listings and your Electronic Program Guide. We are currently working on captioning more of our content for our hearing impaired viewers.

I think I can answer your question...

I hate Time Greedy Warner cable corp.!

I get the signal from satellite owned by DirecTV for over 2 years.

I would say 99% of times that shows that stated there is CC in it has cc on it already.

But, if your getting HDTV signals from any sources then the chance that CC won't work is true. HDTV is not CC friendly, nor compatible. So, you should have gone for EDTV which is CC compatible.

Oh "Here!" channel? Hmmmmm interesting I just re-read your post and overlooked your question regard to specific channel. Hmmm What is this channel about? and the channel number?

BTW, I love DirecTV and would NEVER think of going back to greedy cable operator. Believe it or not. I did call them regard to cable modem issues, they asked me why I don't have cable. I said I love DirecTV. Then the reps said, well there is something that they can offer that DirecTV don't offer. My response was... "Yea, that is true. Your cable company offers annual rate increases, while DirecTV don't offer that." The reps GULPED!!! :giggle: So, Cable company... :madfawk:
 
I don't know. I don't care much for those extra channels. I'm satisfied enough with channels like USA, TBS, Sci-Fi, etc.
 
I called Direct TV in regards to "Here" channel (its a channel that is for gay and lesbian people)...on the here website it says "most of the programs is closed captioned"...my friend has Comcast and it has here as pay per view...in the city where i live no comcast is offered...only Time Warner or Direct TV and Time Warner doesnt carry Here...just Direct TV...according to what the woman at Direct TV said "Nothing is captioned on the Here channel" but why would she say that and on the Here website it says "Most of the shows is c.c." Also, my friend who has comcast told me a few stuff is c.c....I dont know who to believe now...aiee!!
