Hi there,
I used to be a fan of Motocross Action magazines, that was in the time long before internet arrived. My motocross hereos were Bob Hannah, Brad Lackey, Roger DeCoster, Damon Bradshaw, Rick Johnson, and best of all, me! I kicked a few arses out there in my time, rode a 200cc euduro bike (later then I had a worked RM125), when I peaked, everyone thought i was riding a 490 LOL

The best bikes I lusted after were the factory Hondas (CR125's with Pro Circuit pipes) and the FMF modded Suzukis (RM125), those were during the late 1980's and early 1990's. That was the time when I was into motocross.

I was never interested in 250's or bigger because I liked the technical negotiation on the track with lots of short-shifting on 125's (dont be fooled those 125's were demons' bikes) and winding up into the high-rev stratosphere - there was no time for day dreaming...and you had to be super-fit, seriously.
I also never did Supercross, I was more into long, loamy and hard-to-ride-in-sand-like tracks of the european types. That was all we had here, had experienced dirt and clay, but for me, just me - that was too much traction for my style (remember I was a sand rider lol)

Sadly I had to quit, when I broke my arm but nevertheless I did returned to riding , just not racing. Too much pressure that it nearly killed the fun, and too much work to get fit again.

Well I'm hoping there might be a few ADers out there with similar interests ( i don't ride bike, nor own any now I'm just reminisicating) but hey it was a LOT of fun right? and man, when you're young you had this much energy, i just feel really old now. Maybe when i finish grad study and start earn maybe I'd get a nice second-hand Honda CRF400 lol, maybe just the 250 might be plenty power. I hear that now-a-days, four strokes have came a long way, damn and pretty much two strokes are being discontinued - sad, I loved the raw powerbands!

So folks, what bikes did you lusted when you were into motocross and who were your heroes (and why? they finese or hard boiled riders or ouit-braked everyone or were the best in setting up the bikes to match the riders and the track (that usually keeping the best mechanic(s) or some tight loyality went on...

It would be neat to hear from some you sharing your bike-lusts, riding styles, how were your heroes...

Cheers
