There was no need to shoot her. She did have blood alcohol three times the legal limit and marijuana in her system, but it would have been far more appropriate to call the police to come get her.

The homeowner should have told her I am calling 9-1-1 for her or just re-close and lock the solid inner door and call 9-1-1. If the woman broke in, then he would have a self-defense shooting.
