VISTA: Deputies searching for deaf, schizophrenic woman : North County Times - Californian

The Sheriff's Department Search and Rescue unit was searching for a deaf woman with schizophrenia Saturday who disappeared from her care facility.

Alexandra Jimenez, 19, was reported missing from the Camelot Adult Residential Facility at 2035 Alta Vista Drive about 11 a.m. Saturday, Lt. Bill Donahue said. It is unclear how long the woman had been missing before deputies were contacted, he said. A helicopter and dogs were being used to search for her.

Jimenez is deaf and suffers from schizophrenia and is considered at-risk because of her mental illness, Donahue said. She is described as 5 foot 4 inches tall, about 120 pounds with reddish brown hair. She was last seen with her hair in a ponytail, a blue sweatshirt and brown tennis shoes, Donahue said.

Anyone who sees her should contact the Sheriff's Department at (858) 565-5200.
