Depression

this isn't about you. the person who made this thread wouldn't want her thread closed just because you say so.
 
Well, medication does not cure depression but help you to feel comfortable... I can’t see the necessary why anyone needs anti-depression medication. They could be turn into addictive. Did you know that?
They could be turn into drugs, alcohol, etc. when they are depressed… Would the tablets help? Nope, because the tablets could be also addictive, too.

The best therapy is Exercise. It can be useful to positive your healthy & also self-estreem, too.

there's no definitive research showing exercise by itself can cure depression, many mental health experts agree that it has positive mental benefits and can be a useful tool in overall therapy.

Swimming
Walking
Running
Jogging
Exercise
Hobbies
Ride with bicycle


Go to see counselling, therapists if you really want the help. Get out of your chest on them then they will know what/how they can help you.

but don't ya wanna tell the whole world about how you feel, than just talk to one person a counselor...

I would feel so much better if I tell the whole world, but I guess that won;t happen.

Because people won't listen, they rather judge you no matter what.
Those goody two shoes would tell you that they have perfect life but you need to go seek help.

I had a case manager who was so nice and was anorexic and she was white. And she was so nice.

And then she had to go back to college,

and then I had new case manager, she is black, and she keeps preaching to me... and keep forcing me to go seek therapist and told me she got husband and son...
I don't need someone like that in my life... I like to have friends who went through rough time and all.
I don't like it when someone trying to help me, when I don't want help at all.

I can help myself, I went to colleges, I got myself degrees, I even took
myself to seek counseling... I did EVERYTHING by myself...
And I don't need someone to help me or tell me what to do,
just because I have hearing problems or whatever doesn't mean I am CRIPPLED or can't do things by myself.

Depressive disorders can be treated with psychaitric treatment and also a combination of medicines like paxil, wellbutrin and Cymbalta(Cymbalta Antidepressant )

Paxil was banned in Germany but I didn't know much about wellbutrin & Cymbalta. I will search to find out about them.
As I know that paxil could be cause cancer on men & women if they took anti-depression paxil tablet. That's why I prefer exercise than take anti-depression tablets.

Disagree, because the "sweet" could cause the sleeping problem. I'm one of people who has sleeping problem. All what I do is my last eating is before 5pm and if you are hungry after 5pm then take apple or a glass of milk. Turn TV off for one hour before go to bedtime... Simple is go for night walking.

you need to balance your life and don't complain about school and work, just add a little fun to your life. I don't like doing things that I don't want to do, but I HAVE TO DO THEM AND USE TIME WISELY and balance my life. I am a happy person because I am proud of my accomplishments even though they were not that easy!

If only it was so easy, then we wouldn't have depressed pple everywhere, some depressed to the point that they can't get up from bed and function at all even unable to feed themselves, some commiting suicide, psychiatric wards full of depressed patients.

There is a lot of misunderstanding and misconception about depression.
First of all, there is depression and depression.
Everybody at times have some negative thoughts, feel "down", but that is normal, usually helped w/o any medical intervention.
But if a person has real depression, then it is a DISEASE and this is what is causing all these negative thoughts and lack of action, not the other way around. Funny things DOESN'T make them happy. They are unable to have positive, "happy" thoughts.

Because there is a chemical imbalance in their brain that causes it to work improperly, this is something that these people have NO control over.
Saying to someone suffering from depression "balance your life" etc. is like saying to someone "just think happy thoughts and your epilepsy will go away.."
It just does not work this way.

RJR, you are happy and able to work out your problems because you obviously DON'T have depression. Not at this moment in any case. That is very good thing and I am happy for you.
Try to understand that the very nature od depression is exactly loss of ability to think/function normally, among other things.
In the case of clinical depression, it is rather impossible to get back to "normal" w/o first fixing the wrong balance of chemicals in the brain, namely serotonin which is responsible for our mood.
You can't fix it with happy thoughts for this very reason- in order to have happy thoughts the serotonin level must be right. Without it, there will be NO happy thoughts.

I was at the Psych Ward, I wanted to go there because I wanted to...
I was so mad at CSUN people, I didn't care, so I have told police officer
to take me to the Psych Ward...

And I went in Psych Ward...

I have seen people that were so bizarre.

I was just lay on the bed, watching tv, pretending I am on vacation.
Relaxing and rebelling everybody...

But anyway...

I saw a guy sat on a sofa, and just stare at the wall, didn't move at all...
Then I saw another guy on the bed, he was peeing on the wall.
And then I saw another guy came in, 3 police officers bring him in
and strap him on the bed.
And then I saw another guy he was asian, he was talking to himself.
And then I saw another guy, he looked like a mad man, he was ready
to kill that asian man, they were arguing....
And I was scare... because I have never seen such violence in one person...
so the workers there removed me out of that room and
put me in the other room to be safe... I don't know why.
A person who knows sign language came in and tell me that I have to
go back home, because I don't belong there...
So she called a cab for me and the cab picked me up and
I went back to CSUN...
I was in total shock, I never seen so many nuts in my whole life.
