Every time Democrat president takes office, economy is better:

If you invest $10K for a Republican, average return is $11,733.
If you do the same for a Democrat, you get $300,671.

Let me remind you what GOP said about Bill Clinton tax plan

"FLASHBACK: In 1993, GOP Warned That Clinton’s Tax Plan Would ‘Kill Jobs,’ ‘Kill The Current Recovery’"

"Rep. Newt Gingrich (R-GA), February 2, 1993: We have all too many people in the Democratic administration who are talking about bigger Government, bigger bureaucracy, more programs, and higher taxes. I believe that that will in fact kill the current recovery and put us back in a recession. It might take 1 1/2 or 2 years, but it will happen."

Rep. Bill Archer (R-TX), May 24, 1993: I would much rather be here today supporting the President and I would do so if his proposals could expect to increase jobs and the standard of living for Americans, but I believe his massive tax increases will do just the opposite. (Congressional Record, 1993, Thomas)

Rep. Christopher Cox (R-CA), May, 27, 1993: This is really the Dr. Kevorkian plan for our economy. It will kill jobs, kill businesses, and yes, kill even the higher tax revenues that these suicidal tax increasers hope to gain. (Congressional Record, 1993, Page: H2949)

LOL!

It ain't working. Republicans are wrong over and over and over and over. :)

obama is no Bill Clinton *shrug*

Get out, you bum.

Ron Paul! Ron Paul! Ron Paul!!!!

OP - do you really believe that garbage?

Garbage? Show data to prove otherwise otherwise you're spewing garbage.

Let me repeat kokonut's mantra:

"We have all too many people in the Democratic administration who are talking about bigger Government, bigger bureaucracy, more programs, and higher taxes. I believe that that will in fact kill the current recovery and put us back in a recession."

Did it happen? Yes or no. :)

Even if it didn't happen, other things have happened to keep the gov't the bloated thing it is....I mean just the pork-barrelling alone would go far to help plug the dike.

So would cutting the obscenely bloated military budget. It takes over half our money and that is just plain nuts.

There ya go; that's just two things.....

well - what government should do is to flex its muscle at defense contractors and set the fixed price. defense contractors routinely and regularly give government an underestimated cost and then the projects end up with costly delays... at our expense.

Enough is Enough! If the cost exceeds above the agreed fixed price - it's on their (defense contractor) dime. that should be fair.

Think of it as a stimulus that works. :) At least it creates more jobs than a turtle bridge.

Wirelessly posted

The military-industrial complex can only drive the economy when there's an arm race.

The Russians and Chinese may be playing, but they have a long road ahead of them before they could stimulate the economy like the competition with Nazi Germany and Soviet Union once did.

yea... tell that to late Alaskan Senator Stevens.

Defense contractors hire lots of people........

so do constructions. we should focus on rebuilding America, not Iraq or Afghanistan since our bridges are collapsing. Sad that these countries would have better infrastructure than us.
