Hello

If someone made defamatory remarks about you, would you let them get away with it? I told the person's boss' boss, but she did nothing.

And now I have this person trying to get me in hot water again over something that isn't really the main issue. It's like he is retaliating because I don't agree with how he is doing his job.

He has done bad stuff and others have let it slide, so I think I will make him acountable this time.

ah well - I have no need to rectify the situation because my reputation is already enough for them know which one's true :)

plus - I detest drama. I don't start drama. I end drama. :cool2:

You sustain drama sometimes. The debates with Kokonut that go on and on when neither of you is willing to concede to the other person.

debate and drama are 2 entirely different things. What happened in your situation is a drama, not a debate :)

Choose your battles wisely. Just because you don't agree with how someone else is doing there job doesn't mean you have to do or say anything about it.

I don't like to rock the boat....it's gotta be something realllly drastic to make me take action. Everyone has different opinions and reasonings. Before I would go to someone's boss and complain, I'd try to work it out with the person. If that didn't work, I'd ignore him/her. If the person has done this to others, then everyone knows it and sides with you. Drama in the workplace is bad for ur health and well-being.

btw - why do you care about defamatory remark? who cares? Of course the person's boss's boss did nothing because it's an unnecessary trouble. All he/she's got is "he-said, she-said".

Bottom line - I think you should know your place before you start the fight.

You will? Are you his superior? If not, how will you make him accountable? Is what he's doing bad for the company? Best wishes on that.

Exactly. Choose your battles. If someone didn't like the way I am doing my job I would tell them to go F off. And if they went around spouting off about it and trying to make me look bad then "its on"

If you want my advice I would stay on the path of least resistance.

If other people have issues with this person, it's likely that this person has a personality disorder. Do you really want to battle with a crazy person? Continued conflict may make you look unstable. Personality disordered people are expert at making their victims look unstable. I would concentrate on my own job and promoting myself at the company. You can make sure that management sees that you are doing a good job. That will go a lot further than trying to correct a past wrong. Good luck! I hope that your situation gets better.

How they do their job directly affects me.

If he would just do his job, there would be no issue.

Why do I care? Because I was badly portrayed to those in a position of authority.

There is a process in place for this kind of thing.

Right now I am just weighing my options. I'll be in a better position to decide my course tomorrow after I meet with someone to discuss the situation.

I wanted to say something to someone tonight over the Internet because of some defamatory remarks they made about me earlier today. I then decided that it wasn't worth it, so I'm letting it go. You should probably do the same.

Sounds like you are going about this the right way. Best wishes....

There's absolutely no comparison between you and Glenn's situations.

The path of least resistance? Had we done this back in George Washington's time, things would be he11a different. We might be under British rule.

This isn't a matter of my opinion he didn't do his job. The assistant attorney general agrees with me that what was done was not appropriate and enforced changes.

Oh he has targeted others vindictively.

I am a student and how he did his job directly affected my ability to succeed.
