This may sound stupid, but I'd never heard of the Deaflympics until recently - it's only because I was reading a Deaf news site on Facebook that I realised it was even happening!
I was really gutted to see that the 2011 Winter Deaflympics due to lack of funding - and I was also really sad to see that none of the "mainstream" press had picked up the story.
Certainly none of my hearing friends knew anything about it - and, to be fair, neither had I until recently! What do you all think about it?
I've written a short blog about it to try and educate some of my hearing friends about this - it's an event that definitely deserves a wider audience!
