Hi I'm new to this forum and I am hearing so I might not always understand the way Deaf people see things but I am very open minded and look for knowledge and understanding. Anyway I am currently studying Auslan- nearly finished certificate III and will go into completeing Diploma level then interpreters course. I have a question relating to an assignment I am doing and I obviously can not answer it as I have not grown up Deaf. The question is what would be the perfect DEAFLAND. If there was a place in the world where you can go and be yourself and not get discriminated against or looked at funny or get sympathy from ignorant hearing people where would that be and what would it be like. Who would be allowed into Deafland, what would be some of the facilities Deafland would offer. If you can help me in ANYWAY so I can get a perspective of what Deaf people would like, so I can get a better understanding of what would benefit you in life. Maybe your beliefs, your thoughts.

Thankyou so much for your time and I lokk forward to hearing what you have to say and to engage in more conversation.
Hayley
