Hi AllDeaf forum readers,

I am glad that I am able to find this kind of forums where I can find some valuable information or even sharing it. So, this is my first new thread and hopefully, I will get some good numbers of response.

So, I am looking or hoping to find one or few deaf thru-hikers to join me for a thru hike the 2,174 miles Appalachian Trail. It will be very adventurorus. The trail contains toughest terrains of three longest trail, which is also called The Triple Crown, (Pacific Crest Trail and Contiential Divide Trail), with approximately 240 built sleep in structures called Shelter. The shelters are free to use. It will be the northbound thru hike starting in Springer Mountain, Georgia to Mount Katahdin, Maine. I will be leaving for Mardi Gras in New Orleans to celebrate the carnvial then bound for motel in Georgia for approximately one to two weeks to rest and prepare for the longest hike.

It will be approximately 6 months of hike. The Appalachian Trail will go through 14 states, several national forests, national parks, and some trail towns. There will be a festival annually for hikers at Damascus, VA which also called Trail Days.

If you are concerned about funds. If there is only one hiker joining with me, then I will be able to covers all motel, and some food to share. It is cheap to hike the trail. If you have social security benefits, then its great. You dont need more than 500 dollars to spend on the trail each month.

You don't need to have any experience to join. I hiked the Appalachian Trail last March 22nd and stopped at Mt. Rogers National Recreation Area in Virginia due to some priorities that need to be straightened out. Everything is better now and I am all ready to go back again and hike the Appalachian Trail.

If you need some more information about Appalachian Trail, it is www.atconf.org, or read or type message in forums like this, www.whiteblaze.net, or journals to share with, www.trailjournals.com. I have a journal there and to find me there is to click this, www.trailjournals.com/flashhand

No matter if you are female or male, but I do hope that I can have someone who know ASL as a form of communication. I do prefer that you are above 21 but 18 and above is fine with me.

If you need help with equipment, email me at DeafArzona@aol.com or IM me. Either way will be fine.

Lets party!

I know who you should ask and he lives in AZ. Justin Lambert.
He has hiked in Africa and China along with many other places.
Do you know him?
