Deaf Students Strike Poses - Omaha News Story - KETV Omaha
Local students are taking their cues from the cold and striking poses.
They’re taking part in the latest craze in catching your audience off guard. It’s called a flash mob.
Iowa School for the Deaf students froze in place for five minutes at Hy-Vee in Council Bluffs.
They spent weeks preparing.
“A lot of deaf people have balance issues so sometimes we have to hold on to things. We had to practice a lot,” junior Lauren Wellnan said.
The students' drama teacher said the flash mob freeze is way for the kids to express themselves and entertain an audience without communication barriers.
