Deaf students show colours - The Times of India
The Third Punjab Inter school painting and quiz competition for the deaf children, also known as Colours of Silence, was organized at the Arya College for Boys by the Deaf Way Foundation on Tuesday. Ludhiana Deaf Friendship Club hosted the event.
Ninety students from six schools in Mandi Gobindgarh, Patiala, Ropar and Ludhiana participated in the competition.
Branch manager of Deaf Way foundation, Jettal Ramaiya, said, "These competitions provide an edge to these children and make them feel special."
She also said these students needed love and wanted to be the centre of attraction with praise and encouragement coming their way. She also said these children loved applause.
In the quiz competition, Tagore School of Ludhiana bagged the first prize and the Deaf School of Gobindgarh city was second.
In the painting competition, the Junior Level School from Patiala bagged first prize. Second position was claimed by Gobindgarh school and the third prize was bagged by the Ropar school.
In the senior-level painting competition, Ludhiana school bagged the first and the second prizes and Patiala school won third prize.
