Deaf people's alarm?? Help!!?

I have an alarm clock that lights up when the alarm goes off (it makes a noise which I may not hear)

I got a Sonic Boom and it's been working great for the last year or so. I use the bed shaker. When we tried the sound and hubby turned it up, the lady across the street heard it. MIL freaked out and said for me to send it back. I don't use the sound feature at all. Hubby gets up with his alarm clock which is a regular digital clock, but he has to cover it since the display is too bright even on a low setting.

I didn't realize you weren't living in the US until someone else mentioned UK-based companies. So I guess my suggestions may be moot :P Though, a new suggestion: if you have a friend in the US, pay the friend some money to order something for you and ship it to you. However, one problem is the type of plug. I know that non-US countries have very different kinds of plugs, so that's something to watch out for.

I do disagree with the idea of just letting your mom wake you up. It's not fun. Being 100% independent is soooo much better :D

PS. Though, a travel alarm clock like the one I have doesn't use plug, just batteries. So, if you use the same kind of batteries like in the US, a US-based travel alarm clock would be good to go.
