Deaf Pedestrian Hurt After Being Hit By Car On South Route 837 In Union Township, Washington County - kdka.com
A deaf pedestrian was hospitalized overnight after he was struck by a vehicle while walking along a road in Washington County.
According to state police, the pedestrian was moderately injured when he was hit just before midnight while crossing from the southbound lanes to the northbound lanes on South Route 837 near Coal Bluff Road in Union Township.
The pedestrian was not identified, but authorities say he is between the ages of 60 and 70 and is deaf.
The man driving the vehicle has been identified by authorities as 63-year-old Eugene Manzetti, of Pittsburgh. He was not hurt in the accident.
The pedestrian was flown to Allegheny General Hospital for treatment.
