A PROFOUNDLY deaf nun is appealing to pet owners to help her find a new hearing dog after her beloved Trixie died.
Sister Marika Rebicsek's lost her soulmate and lifeline when her dog died from a heart problem last year.
Because she is allergic to most dogs, the only breed charity Hearing Dogs is able to give her is a hairless Chinese crested dog like Trixie.
Sister Marika, who teaches sign language at Redbridge College, Little Heath, Chadwell Heath, said: "It has been very, very hard without Trixie. I miss her so much. I think that this is one of those things you never get over, but you learn to live with."
If you think you can help, contact Sister Marika by email to MREBICSEK@redbridge-college.ac.uk or contact Hearing Dogs on 01844 348 105 or check http://www.hearing-dogs.co.uk/donate-puppy.php for further details.
