Deaf musicians ready to celebrate - The Star
A GROUP of students from Doncaster College for the Deaf are set for an alternative performance at one of the region's most anticipated musical celebrations tomorrow.
They will be performing a percussion piece with water cooler bottles to simulate the noise of a volcano at the Deaf Musicians' Celebration, hosted by charity Music and the Deaf.
The celebration, held at Leeds College of Music and featuring the Deaf Youth Orchestra, is an event to give deaf instrumentalists the chance to come together to make music and meet each other.
Doncaster College for the Deaf gives students the opportunity to take part in musical activities as part of their enrichment programme in the curriculum.
More than 10 musicians, between the ages of 16 and 22, from the college's Link department will participate in the event.
