Hello,

My name is Beverly Moore, and I'm on this site trying to become a part of this community as I'm studying for my BS in ASL Interpreter Program at Troy University. Part of the requirement is that we have a certain number of hours spent in the Deaf community. I need to find Deaf individuals with whom I may interact via ooVoo, Skype, or Facetime.

If there's anyone who would be interested in having a conversation with me BEFORE this Friday, please let me know. My ooVoo I.D. is 4921512017. I look forward to chatting with you soon, and thanks for your help!

P.S. - I grew up with Deaf siblings--a sister and a brother, so I've been speaking ASL most of my life, and I LOVE the Deaf culture! I'm currently working as a contractor for a company as an interpreter, and I'm waiting to be hired full-time at another company really soon.

If you are working as an interpreter, so you could have made some Deaf friends. What do you think if you can ask them to help you out for your credits?? I believe it would be convenient. i hope.

if you grew up with Deaf siblings, why not ask around and see about any community where you are? and wouldn't you realize that ASL is not spoken?

ASL Interpreter

I have made many friends with my siblings' friends, but I don't know their contact information. I've been out in the community, because I'm an interpreter for Deaf Connect, but I have to have different interactions, for instance, I have to watch Deaf movies/documentaries such as "Sound and Fury", then some interactions have to be with my Deaf language mentor at the college, some have to be via vlogs, others have to be just "hanging out" such as talking with someone via skype, or having a meal or coffee and speaking ASL...things like that. By the way, do you have a skype account or ooVoo account? Maybe I could speak with you and use that as my interaction for class, if you don't mind.
