Deaf/HOH and prayer meetings

I don't know if this is the right place to post this but...

I attend prayer meetings because that's what religious people do, right?

I HATE prayer meetings with hearing people because everyone bows their heads and speaks real softly.

I am embarrassed to keep my head up to lip read but...

Well, I really feel lost at prayer meetings.:shock:
 
My suggestion would be: Attend the meeting, find out the main theme of prayer beforehand then pray by yourself. You can always get someone to cue you when everyone is finished praying - otherwise, you may be able to find a Deaf/HOH prayer meeting you can attend if you search for one.
