Deaf enterpreneur...

come on, even if no one knows this person,
nobody gives a damn about a Deafie being successful???

Wirelessly posted

Give some time Fuzzy, just noticed your new thread. I am Viewing it now.

Comment: Good on him for using sign language. However, media write-ups leave a lot to be desired because they are still ingrained in stereotypes of the Deaf and terminology they commonly use which locks us Deafies into that Stereotyp. Terms that we are so sick of such as: deaf-mute; hearing impaired....etc. We need to educate the media to change the mindset of the general populace to think of us as equals not as some circus show that wows them.

good for him, that's awesome! It's not easy to get something off the ground and he did it.

Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. So much wrong with this article. Not in the least bit impressed with this article, or with the OP for throwing a fit for no responses to his post.

Pouting because nobody praises this thread....Priceless.

Pouting because nobody "praises the thread" ????????????????
I can not think of a more idiotic idea.

I wanted the feedback on the subject in the article.
I wanted to know what do you peeps think of a deaf person being successful.

As a plus, it was interesting to read what someone thinks of the way the article itself was written.

You three - Saywhatkid, AlleyCat and Frisky Feline should stop being obsessed with my person only,
and start paying attention to the TOPIC OF a THREAD, actually.

Really, I am flattered, but guys, enough! Already!

The topic was interesting enough. Why did it sit? Why did it bother you that nobody replied? I have posted threads with no replies, yet I did not complain.

Shut up, will you?

I know/meet several Deaf enterpreneurs here in USA. My question is so what? They are common to me anyway.

It didn't bothered me that nobody replied TO me.
I also had numerous threads which nobody replied to in the past.
Did I "made a stink" about it??? not in the least! oy vey, so nobody was intertested - big deal.

(very easy to check in the archives, btw)

But this time, I was unpleasantly surprised that nobody cares about
A DEAF PERSON trying to make big out there.
How very... indifferent. Cold.

You people always complain how unfairly the hearing world is treating YOU.
Now, here we have THE Dragons being actually impressed with this guy, and yet.... nobody at ALL DEAF gives a damn..

makes you think, ya know....

Really?? Just HOW common??? :)

There is nearly a million functionally deaf pple in USA.

Just out of this number, how many achieved any significant success comparing to the same number of hearing pple???

or, to ask it simpler way - just how many times did you see a deaf person appearing on Dragons Den comparing to the hearing person?? hmm???

Stop focusing on this. I mean, maybe they aren't ignoring the message, just the messenger. Understand? Get back to the topic, which isn't, and shouldn't be, the members of AD.

Deaf people trying to make it big is not a new concept, either.

People like this deaf entrepreneur can change the way hearing people view deaf. OMG they're just deaf, why shouldn't they be successful. I hope he is so successful that many more deaf will be inspired and the day will come when being deaf means as little as having blue eyes. I appreciate him, Fizzy.
