Deaf Encanto Woman Robbed In Home Invasion - San Diego News Story - KGTV San Diego
A 71-year-old deaf woman was robbed at gunpoint in her home in the Encanto neighborhood of Southeast San Diego, police said Sunday.
The woman was asleep in her home on Jenna Court at about 2:30 p.m. Saturday when the suspect entered the house. She awoke to find the man rummaging through her purse, Sgt. Ray Battrick said.
The man pointed a gun at the woman and motioned for her to give him the keys to her truck. He drove off in her white Chevy S-10 truck, which has with a black rack on top and California license plate California 6A45329.
He also may have stolen her cell phone and laptop, Battrick said.
The suspect was described as a 25-30 year old old black man wearing dark clothing. The victim was not injured, Battrick said.
SDPD's Robbery Unit and the Southeastern Unit are investigating.
