A DEAF driver clung to the bonnet of his stolen luxury car for over half-a-mile as a car thief tried to shake him off.
Peter Broadbent, 64, yesterday described in sign language the terror ride on the hood of his new £32,000 BMW X3.
The thief sneaked up on Friday as the joiner closed his garage in Den-ton, Greater Manchester.
Mr Broadbent was driven over pavements to try to jolt him off. He was cut and bruised after being thrown clear.
He said: "It was dangerous and I'm lucky not to have died. I just wanted to stop him."
