I am doing a project for my class on Deaf culture. i was wondering what are some important aspects of Deaf culture to each of you personally and what resources/venues you think i should go in with this project. It is sort of a broad topic and i was wondering if any of you with actual experience in this could give me some guidance and opinions. Thanks!

Anything written by Carol Padden and Tom Humphries on the subject. For example, their book "Deaf in America: Voices from a Culture." This is an excellent article but may be difficult to understand without any background knowledge on the culture:

Also, "A Journey into the Deaf-World" by Lane, Hoffmeister, and Bahan and "Reading Between the Signs" by Mindess are two excellent reads, hard to put down, and very very accessible. I learned an enormous amount from these two books.
