Deaf boy escapes from clutches of thieves
A 17-year-old deaf boy from Jishou, Hunan Province, managed to escape from a gang of thieves only after he was duped into joining the crooks and made to steal for them.
The boy, known as Guangyang, went to Yichang to look for a man he met on the Internet, who told the boy he owned a factory for the disabled and could give the boy a job.
After arriving in Yichang, Guangyang realized the man was in fact the head of a gang of thieves. He was then made to steal for them.
The boy had wanted to escape several times but failed. He finally succeeded only when the gang leader was having a drinking party with his thieves.
Guangyang managed to contact police but has refused to go home because he had wanted to wait for another boy held by the gang - they lost contact after escaping from the crooks.
Local police and the media are onto the case.
