Deaf and hard of hearing students have a day of fun at the YMCA Thursday.
More than 50 students participated in the DHH Olympic Day. They had fun with obstacle courses, basketball, swimming and other games.
While it's a day to keep them active and socializing with other kids, it's also designed to let them know they are not alone. "It's really important, most of our students are either the only deaf students or the only students who wear hearing devices or cochlear implants in their whole school building so it's really important for them to come together and meet other students who are in the same kind of situation that they are."
Students from Western Wisconsin as well as Minnesota and Iowa participated in the event.
