Hi,

Is anyone here a member of Curves?

I am a new member of Curves and am LOVING IT! But I was thinking about my Deaf friend and other Deaf people. Maybe somebody is thinking about joining, but not sure if Deaf people can participate? I think so.

I think about what it's like being deaf and participating. I realized you don't have to be hearing. There are lots of visual aids. Probably you need someone to help you sign up the first day. After that, you can watch other ladies. The workers are very nice and helpful. They will help you with heart rate, etc. Who knows if someone at your Curves signs! Curves is very friendly.

I am not deaf, but I have been studying ASL, and I was very happy to have a Deaf neighbor who was so nice to help me. So I want to help too.

If you think about joining, yes! Do it!

I am a member of Curves here in Australia. I just watch and follow the ladies as they move on to the next station or stop to check their pulse, plus I can hear the music too but dunno the singing song about. I know some Deaf women have join Curves in their area. So far I have not seen any in my area yet.
Yep I agree that it is so much fun and they put on a little game to play too to win a small prize. It's only takes 30 mins a day 3 times a week to workout and you come out fitter and happy. :)

Is it the place to go for workout with the music on or what is it? Care to explain. I go to workout with a lot of equipments and included hot and dry sauna, much more... Pardon moi if it is off topic

Yes it is a place where u do your workout with music. They have some exercise machine there set out in a circle and in between the machines are the recovery boards which you do the jogging on. It is like a circuit exercise going around in a circle using all the machine & the boards.

Curves International - Home you can check it out here.

That is awesome, Koala!

I don't understand what they're singing about half the time! When I go, it is the fastest half hour of my day. I get a really good workout, and it's fun. I like the little games and bonuses. Like yesterday, we had to bring in a note about something we were thankful for. We got "Curves bucks" to use at an auction we'll be having in a few months. Very cool!

Anyway, it is good to know that you are part of a Curves down under. I hope it can be an inspiration to other ladies who might be unsure about going. Good luck to you!
