Deaf Adult Services seeks exec director - Business First of Buffalo:

Deaf Adult Services has selected of Pamela Kefi as interim executive director of the agency while a search commences for a permanent candidate.

Kefi replaces Thomas Burns who exited Deaf Adult Services to become associate vice president of communications, public relations and marketing at Niagara University.

Most recently Kefi was the executive director of the International Institute of Buffalo from 2005-2009.

“Pamela Kefi’s experience supervising an agency which services a diverse clientele with limited English language skills makes her uniquely qualified to be interim director for Deaf Adult Services,” said a statement from Robert Cagle, president of the board of directors for Deaf Adult Services.

The board will be seeking community representatives from deaf and hard of hearing organizations in the Buffalo area to actively participate in the executive director search process.

Burns, who previously held administrative positions with the Buffalo Bisons and Medaille College, had joined Deaf Adult Services last July.
