Deaf Action Center founder Betty Phillips dies | shreveporttimes.com | Shreveport Times
Memorial services will be held at noon Wednesday for Betty Sklar Phillips, a founder of the Betty and Leonard Phillips Deaf Action Center of Louisiana, who died Monday.
The services will be held at B’nai Zion Temple. Graveside services will be private for family members only.
Although others worked on founding the center, Phillips was the one who was instrumental in bringing DAC to fruition, and with her husband, provided seed money for its start.
She supported it and many other non-profit organizations for years and was a longtime DAC chairwoman.
