Daisy is a "beautiful" 6-year-old golden retriever-Lab mix, says the Marblehead Animal Shelter.
"Daisy is deaf and needs a loving home," shelter volunteers explain. "She was never around other animals and should be an only pet."
They add, "Daisy is a very loving dog that loves to be outside and go for walks. She never got the proper attention she should have from her former owners. She is now in a temporary home with people who would love to keep Daisy and give her all the love and attention she so desperately needs. Unfortunately, her temporary family is not allowed to have pets anymore in its apartment."
The volunteers continue, "Daisy doesn't have a mean bone in her body, but it is best if she goes into a home with no young children. Deaf dogs can learn sign language. We hope there is somebody out there with a big heart who understands the challenge of having a dog whose world is silent."
Daisy is golden color and in excellent health. She is up to date on all shots and has tested negative for Lyme and heartworm disease.
Anybody interested in Daisy should go to the shelter and fill out an application or fill out an application online at www.marblehead-animal-shelter.org, and shelter staff will arrange a meeting.
Adoption hours at the Marblehead Animal Shelter, 44 Village St., are Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from noon to 3 p.m. For more information, call 781-631-8664.
