CVS Pharmacy Wants Workers' Health Information, or They'll Pay a Fine

Deaftears Syndrome....

Anytime you drop off a prescription you are giving them your personal health information. That is kept of file for years. This happens to anybody, at ANY pharmacy. Not just employees.

How is that for being parinoid??

Pharmacy are required to comply HIPPA laws, there is regulation how it is being done. Same with doctors, hospitals etc where they are authorized under HIPPA law. No, I am not being paranoid. The point is there are certain kinds of companies and people that should not be knowing your medical information PERIOD. The reason behind this is to prevent Health Insurance companies from abusing or find loopholes in laws. I have my own personal story, and since I signed NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement), which means that I can't share the information and this is really scary, and I am seeing the pattern and happening. There are so much that you may NOT even realize what is really going on. Again, I am not being paranoid, I am being vigilantly.

Just think this, if you think it is OK, you are handing the information to other party and that party would do anything to keep it well organized and documented in case something happens to you, they will have plenty to lock out their asses and leave your ass wide open with nothing to protect them in legal system and who gets screwed?

so get your own insurance if you're that paranoid.

I work for CVS and I do not have any issues with this. I have nothing to hide about my personal health and my doctors do not share my medical records with them. The only information they have is through my prescriptions that I have sent there, and by what I personally tell them. CVS has been great to me and accomdating me in every way. My bosses are aware of me having Usher Syndrom 2 and tells me how good I work with the abilities I have. My co workers in the pharmacy are the best. They back me up in every way. Very professional setting.

If a third party going to pay for your medical bills or insurance you have to let them what they are paying for. Third party mainly means insurance companies.

No, I understood perfectly clearly. We are living in corrupted government, PERIOD.

Want another proof? I have other events that shows how corrupted government is. It happened in NYC recently and it started back in 1990 and how the information was used and manipulated and poor guy suffered for nothing.

I am speaking for general and HOW these administrators, attorneys at law, and other related associates manipulate the information to TAKE ADVANTAGE of innocent citizens when it comes into court room. If you give information to them, then they CAN use it against you and throw you to rot and they don't care and only thing they care is money in their pockets. That is the FACT.

America's balance of power is out of whack right now and it is just a tip of iceberg.

I believe what leads to this mess is that during late 70's, 80's and early 90's where there was wave of lawsuits. I remember news everywhere about various lawsuits. Like that stupid old lady ordered a coffee from McDonalds though drive-thru and spilled coffee on her lap, lawsuit awarded her over million dollars. What do you think McDonalds attorney would do after everything settled? They will come up something to make sure it won't happen again by asking for more information and documenting it and when there is another lawsuit, they have on paper using as testimony which is harder to beat verbal testimonies.

so get your own insurance if you're that paranoid.

That is exactly my thinking. No one should penalize for opt-out. However I would support the opposite... award them who take care of their health instead and that is fair enough. Similar concept of bonuses.

Yes, we had this at my work. If all they want is weight, body fat, etc then it is not too big of an intrusion. At my work, they wanted to have me get blood tested by a private firm, this is a much bigger intrusion. Your employer can use that information any way they see fit and they will have you sign a disclosure form to the effect. I opted out of that part of the plan.

I'm sure at some point someone will challenge the legality of it and you won't get penalized in the future for opting out.

simple - if you're in a good health, then provide them with information and you'll be fine. after all - they're the one who is paying for everything, not you.

I hope you will answer the question honestly when you fill out FAFSA for your children.... which will ask you about health history.

WHAAAAT? I filled out FAFSA online last summer. All they needed to know was how much I make annually since my daughter lives with me so she can get a student loan with a low interest. Nothing about my health history. Do you know what FAFSA is?
