I've been lurking about here on alldeaf for several months now and I have a question (or two). So many of the posts regarding CI's are from those that are parents of a deaf child OR prelingually deaf.

I didn't get my first hearing aid until my mid 20's (am now 48) but my hearing has continued to deteriorate and I'm now officially a CI candidate. Are there any other late deafened adults here with a CI?:hmm:

I believe there are 1 or 2 ppl or more on this forum who are late deafened with a CI..but don't quote me...i could be wrong..

Hear Again is one. Etalton is getting one but not yet.

Bott is correct. I lost my hearing in my 20s and received my CIs in December, 2004 and February, 2006.

I'm a bit of both, I went severly deaf at 4 years old through measles, and struggled by with aids, then in mid 20's i suffered a bout of bad ear infections with renendered me profoundly deaf, I only got my implant 2 months ago approx, and switched on 4 weeks ago, long way to go.
