CT student teacher sentenced on fed sex charges - Houston Chronicle
A student teacher from a Connecticut school for the deaf has been sentenced to one to three years in prison for engaging in sex with a 15-year-old central New York girl he met online.
The sentence will be served at the same time as a 20-year term he received last week in federal court.
The Syracuse Post-Standard reports (Teacher for deaf sentenced for sex with underage girl he met on the Internet | syracuse.com ) that 31-year-old Micah Brown said nothing as he was sentenced Wednesday in Onondaga County Court. Brown had admitted having sexual contact with the girl in her Marcellus home in February 2010. He was arrested when he returned with plans to meet her again at a motel.
A spokeswoman for the American School for The Deaf in West Hartford says Brown worked there as a student teacher for five weeks.
