ASL is a much more expressive language than English. ASL offers possibilities that English does not.

SignWriting is a constructed written language that classifies handshape, movement, and facial expression. ASL can be written with SignWriting.

SignWriting can be used generically, without facial expressions. Or facial expressions can be used for much more expressive power.

The problem with an ASL poem is that it can only be told in person. However with SignWriting, ASL can be drawn on paper or computer. I am working on a dictionary for English to SignWriting .

Currently I have 500 words. Generic SignWriting is possible using the current database. Here is the translation of "read and write sign".

Is there any value is ASL poetry online?
