I'm going upgrade the CPU from Core 2 Duo to Core 2 Quad after delivery from UPS today and I'm realized the Intel Core 2 series (after 2006) has no pin so I just opened my case and check it as practice before I start put Core 2 Quad in. It is very easily to insert without worry about get bend like happened to Pentium 4 in past, when pin is bend so it is no good, PC won't start up so I had learned my lesson about not force into socket.

Have you forced the CPU into socket before when it was first time and don't know how to handle it?

It is nice about recent Intel CPU has no pin.

There's reason because I have upgrade to Core 2 Quad due some games, such as GTA IV and Saints Row 2 require quad core as recommended, I had played GTA IV with Core 2 Duo and it won't play so smooth as console version.

It does last longer and it could take much as 10 years to make quad core as minimum requirement for games.

Yea, pins should be carefully gentle press down. the corner that where "arrow" pointing to match lined up with arrow on motherboard. Simply gentle press every corners and repeat till it's seated then press down little a bit to lock it or move handle down to lock it.

I've bent pins before on a Mac with ZIF socket. I upgraded my blue and white G3 tower to a faster G3 processor once and swapped a 466 MHz G4 to a 733 MHz which was on a daughterboard. I had to connect a 12 volt power from the power supply to the daughterboard because the older G4 doesn't have enough power to boot a 733 MHz version which was from a quicksilver G4 and mine was a digital audio G4.

I got delivered and upgrade so successfully, I noticed that boot up is much faster than Core 2 Duo so upgrade is worth. :)

That's cool, I've got Core 2 Quad Q9550 I bought it from Fry's last year for $279 or something. Yes it's faster and love it!

Intel hardware is not for me. don't ask me why nor tell me Intel stuffs. But Grats! I hope you enjoy to play games via Core 2 Quad PC. ;)
