Man, Woman Buried Jacksonville Couple Alive In 2005

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Florida Supreme Court has affirmed the convictions and sentences of two people sentenced to death for the murder of a Jacksonville couple.

Tiffany Cole and Alan Wade remain on death row.

The rulings on their appeals came down over the last few months.

Prosecutors said Cole, the only woman on Florida's death row, Wade, and two other co-defendants buried Carol and Reggie Sumner alive in July 2005.

Cole's attorney had claimed that she didn't know of her co-defendants' plans.

One of the other co-defendants, Michael James Jackson, is also on death row.

The other one, Bruce Nixon, agreed to testify against the others and was sentenced to 45 years in prison.
