lol just updated news. Bomber used nonexplosive fertilizer? and M-88 firecrackers hoping it'll set off flammable material like propane tank, soda cans filled with gasoline? wow....

hardly devastating. Several people would get injured if it blew up but based on how the bomb was constructed.... the vehicle will just turn into a burning vehicle before the propane tank blows up. People would have already been moved away.
 
My brother lives abt a mile from times square in NYC...he was only inside his apartment when that happened. glad hes okay, especially for everyone else who wasnt hurt that night either.

Investigators were reviewing similarities between the incident in Times Square and coordinated attacks in the summer of 2007 at a Glasgow airport and a London neighborhood of nightclubs and theaters. Both attacks involved cars containing propane and gasoline that did not explode. Those attacks, the authorities believed, had their roots in Iraq.

“You can find similarities among different attacks, but there is nothing that we have at this point that has established that link,” Mr. Browne said.

Mayor Bloomberg said that “so far, there is no evidence that any of this has anything to do with one of the recognized terrorist organizations.”

just remembered - this explains why several police cars unsafely blasted thru us at high speed when I was going home - around 1am. I said "unsafely" because it was at the one-way street and it's pretty narrow with cars parked on both sides and there were many people walking around - drunken hour.

Very lucky! no car bomb.. I had watched ABC news on TV about it.
 
Oh wow, that's damn scary but thanks to NYPD about found out to prevent before happen and it could cost over thousands of peoples' lives.
