Two Kansas City area residents are among Gov. Kathleen Sebelius’ appointees to the Kansas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. They are Teresa Sturgeon, a sign language interpreter and employee of Johnson County Community College, and Kimberly Symansky, a Gallaudet University graduate who volunteers to help deaf and hard-of-hearing students at public schools. Both live in Olathe.
