I just saw comet Holmes outside in the constellation of Perseus. To my eyes, it looked like an extra star. Through binoculars, it looked like a bright fuzzy ball. It had recently brightened by almost a million times. There are some pictures of it and maps showing where to find it here. On this page about the constellation are a list of other things that can be found in that region of the sky. If you look at the comet with binoculars, you could try looking for the Double Cluster too. The map of Perseus on the page about it shows where it is.
