SOUTH YARMOUTH, Mass. -- A motel worker accused of photographing a young girl in the nude was arrested after police allegedly found hundreds of sexually explicit photographs of young girls in his home.
Robert E. Laplante was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Barnstable District Court on three counts: possessing child pornography, enticing a child under 16 and posing a child in the nude.
"What we found in his house was very, very disturbing," Yarmouth Police Lt. Stephen G. Xiarhos told the Cape Cod Times.
The investigation began Friday when a psychologist at the girl's school told police a student there reported being photographed naked. Police searched Laplante's house and seized videotapes, cameras and several computers, Xiarhos said.
Police said they also found dozens of Barbie dolls and a collection of newspaper clippings of JonBenet Ramsey, the 6-year-old Colorado girl who was found murdered in Colorado in 1996.
The FBI was assisting in the investigation. (AP)
