William Jefferson D-LA Sentenced To 13 Years In Jail For Corruption. |

Did you know what Jefferson's 2006 campaign ad said to the charges of taking cash for bribery?

"I have never taken a bribe from anyone.”
TPMmuckraker | Talking Points Memo | Jefferson Ad: "I Have Never Taken A Bribe"

And it's been proven he lied about that.

Next up, Chris Dodd.

It's about time.

and next up - Dick Cheney. Karl Rove. Tom DeLay. and more.

They keep thousands of frozen assets in their home freezers?

does it matter how they store it? he was arrested for bribery and corruption charge. that's all it matters.

Maybe it is all part of a new "trickle down" economic plan.

I would like to ask why is he so important to you? did he do something to you personally or just because he's a black Democrat?

:giggle:

(took me a while to find out who he is)

I didn't even bother to find out who he is. He's just as corrupted as rest of politicians - regardless of political party. OLD NEWS!

You're so right on. :)

The difference though is GOP claims to be "moral" and it ain't so! Democrats on the other hand doesn't make that claim and they still work on their moral issues!

He screwed over the taxpayers and committed crimes. District Judge T.S. Ellis said "public corruption is a cancer on the body politic."

I agree. Any politician who does that should face the full consequences of jail time. Skin color has no bearing.

right... but why so angry over him? He's a little fish that nobody has heard of. There are hundred of others including GOP like him. Why don't you do us a favor and list us some Republican politicians who are charged with corruption and bribery?

let me start for you - Jack Abramoff. Sarah Palin (pending). Jeane Kirkpatrick. Rudy Boschwitz. and hundreds more......

I find it laughable that someone can defend any group of politicians. Most have several skeletons in the closet. Wearing blinders can do that for some people.

Might want to start with Obama soon and his ACORN, SIEU connections, etc..

and GWB, Dick Cheney, UN Secretary General, and everybody else in the world! including me!

I peeked. :cool2:

I prefer to fish with live bait and a bobber. Your method involves using a boat and lure, and traveling slowly. That is just another usage of the word "troll" but you knew that. Hence, my signature.

Soon, the air will clear out. The stench of arrogance will drift away.

Interesting.

A freezer full of cash made ex-Rep. William Jefferson a national punch line, and a federal judge on Friday made him a record-holder: The 13-year prison sentence given to the Louisiana Democrat is the longest ever handed down to a former Member of Congress.

Before handing down the sentence, U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis said: “There is no doubt that you have led an extraordinary life and you have accomplished a great deal. ... It makes this event all the sadder.”

Ellis told Jefferson that he had “squandered” his gifts. “Public corruption is a cancer,” he said. “It needs to be surgically removed.”

Federal prosecutor Mark Lytle used stronger language, calling Jefferson’s actions the “most extensive and pervasive pattern of corruption in the history of Congress.”
Jefferson’s Sentence Is a Record-Setter - Roll Call

I agree with the judge. Public corruption is a cancer. You have to surgically remove it. Looks like the Judge landed a whopper this time. One down, many more to go.
