I have unilateral Cochlear Implant, and I unfortunately have alopecia, which causes me to lose all of my hair. Now I am going to wear a hair wig but my biggest concern is that it might cause the external magnet/coil to fall off my head.

What I could do is that I place my coil on the scalp or the skin, and then put the wig cap over that….but because the coil is attached to the microphone/processor by the cable, what if the hair attached to the wig somehow pushes my microphone off the ear? I have Nucleus 5.

Or I can put on the wig first, and then put the coil on top of the wig cap…but what if it doesn't stay as it would if placed on my bare skin? I'm afraid that the wig cap might be a barrier between the magnet and the coil.

I haven't tried on any wigs but I will be doing so pretty soon.

Any advice would be much appreciated.
