Cleary School for the Deaf Holds Craft Fair to Beautify School - Smithtown, NY Patch
The Cleary School for the Deaf held a craft fair from Saturday morning into the early evening in order to help fund changes and updates to the appearance of the facility.
"We're trying to support the beautification of the school, we just don't have the funds to do projects around the school to make the grounds better, make it more accessible with playgrounds for children," said Cleary School for the Deaf Superintendent Ken Morseon.
After the craft fair, the superintendent said it was entirely put together and made possible by the staff of the school.
"A lot of the staff took the initiative to do all this, I was just here helping, but they took the initiative to do this and raise some money for this project," Morseon said.
The craft fair was the first of its kind for the school, and was deemed a success by Morseon.
"We were filled with vendors, I think they wish more people would come through but for the first time it was a very successful day," he said. "Our staff was very helpful–it was very well organized."
