Circuit City plan layoff 3500 workers then hiring low wage workers. WHOA bad news for current employers. I have no idea how is reaction current employers. I was learn from TV last night on bloomberg stock channel. Poor workers who good pay will lost job. Geeez CEO is retard greedy. I check their stocks. It seem not doing well. Best Buy's stock is better than Circuit City.

Circuit City got hurt so badly after compete with Best Buy and electronic dept at Wal-Mart.

These are "entry level" jobs. It was never intended as lifetime employment nor career. It is a starting point where you start somewhere and looking for real career. That is what I have done, and it worked! If you sit back and collect gov't check, no career positions will be available to you, and I can almost guarantee that.
I just left boring warehouse job! Now into adventurous career position where I never dreamt gaining into!

BTW, This is not going to help CC solve their struggling. CC does not have much options like best buy do offer. Best Buy offers more products to sell, that is why Best Buy outsells CC.

Yikes :hyper: more compete to get jobs.. yikes!

Yes I saw that on the news. I cannot believe it. I found out that they want to hire low level of employees who do not know much about televisions for example because the experienced employees explained some customers that made them not to buy it at the store which made the company pissed off. Many customers want to find and buy a best quality television like a LCD TV or a Projection instead of Plasma. It is obvious that the company wants to have extra profit by hiring new low employees like diehardbiker said on his post.

I feel that CC will file for bankrupt protection in near future, like happen to Kmart.

At Wal-Mart, you are require to have training for know about most of electronic stuff, such as know about HDTV, SDTV, video games, DVD movies and more, also some employees are act pretend to consumers as don't know and that pissed consumers off and store managers have fired them, though. I rather to take some research before buy HDTV and refuse to ask to employees.

For me, I refuse to buy low-end HDTV, such as Sanyo and iLo because they will be worn out and short life of running on HDTV. I have bad news that my parent's HDTV is already worn out in 6-8 month with blurry picture since their brand is Sanyo then end up to bought new Sony HDTV. :ugh:

If laid 3,500 off then CC will going be in big hell with alot of boycott like encourage consumers to not buy their products and force them to be lose in profit.

I am pretty sure that the president of CC never loose his money. He would able to sell his business whatever he wants. It does not matter if his business is dead.

I know a woman's father who owns a huge vehicle company, and he gave up his seat to be the president of the company. He still has a plenty of money and has two mansions in two different places.

Donald Trump's one of the buildings in NYC went bankrupt so he laid off his employees right away and sold the business. Donald saved his money for not giving the employees' checks, and it is legal. He is still rich. He is jerk.

Common way nothing new

So sad about Circuit City downsizing. I wouldn't miss the store if they have any plans to clsoe any around here. Maybe this will help to push Fry's Electronics to expand into more markets.
