I am not sure if to put it here since it is about other countries, or in the computer section since this is a "reference website"...so if one of you mods see fit to move this post elsewhere that's appropriate, it's ok with me. :) -- Nancy

This link below goes to "CIA - The World Factbook":

You can find any country you are interested, about their flags, the government, people, and other topics. :) Great if you are traveling or just want to learn about other countries. :)

Here's something for GnarlyDorkette - since she now has a Finnish citizenship with her being also an American citizen (way to go! :applause: ):

So, what do you find interesting in the World Factbook on the countries they provided? :)

I did use that reference website to get know Estonia better since I had a last-minute trip to Estonia with my partner and family and I was worried that I didn't know NOTHING about the country--- their language, their crime rates, et cetera. CIA's Worldfact did HELP a lot.

I did enjoy my time in Estonia with some relief to bear some knowledge to avoid tourist traps.

I do recommend this to everybody who is traveling to different country-- you just beat me to it. ;-)

(Interesting fact about Estonia: It was OLDER than Finland by three hundre years! Their captial, Tallinn, was the major trading port for Russia and Sweden (and the rest of countries who came into the gulf). Estonia liberated in 1917, two years after Finland's empincation (sp), but they were soon abucted under the Iron Curtain in the early 30s and they finally liberated themselves again in 1991 (or 1997?) and restored their own flag and government (black, blue and white stripes is their flag) and ever since their economy has been improved.)
