Central AC

UPDATE:

I spoke to management and they will send the maintenance guys over when they get back from their lunch break. They said something about a line needing to be cleaned out...dunno what that is. :dunno:

It's hot in here...at least I have the ceiling fan and a large window fan in my room right now, so I didn't cook to death last night.

Maintenance came and fixed it, cleaned out the line and drained out some nasty looking liquid. Hopefully it helps.

Well...

AC is working better, it feels quite cool at 80 degrees.

BUT...it's leaking again, and worse than before.

::sighs::

Management office is closed now and maintanence staff are done for the day. I will have to speak to management in the morning again.

I don't wanna turn AC off again...my apartment was a sauna all day...so I'm gonna wait til it gets dark before I turn it off.

I hope it is taken care of today? that line they cleared up must be condenser line. The leak must be something else! wow..

I wish they could wait till they confirm no leaks at all then think "that's it"

Maintenance came.

They don't seem to believe me that there was leaks because they said the line is dry. I said the reason it is dry now is because I TURNED THE AC OFF BEFORE THE LEAK RUINS THE CARPET! So I dunno....they said next time it leak to leave AC on and if it leak again to call them back again.

::sighs::

I did wish they would wait to see the leak...but they had other apartments to take care of.

Yeah, it just started leaking about 10 minutes ago...I grabbed my "hospital puke pan" and put it under the leak...and left AC on running this time and I spoke directly to management and told them what the maintenance told me and that I need maintenance to come back again. So maintenance will come back before 6 pm.

::sighs::

The leak is making my apartment smell bad....it's what I have been smelling the past few weeks but did not know what it was....thought maybe it was the neighbor or my brain playing jokes on me...now I know what is making the bad smell...ugh.

Good, they need to see where the leak is coming from so it can be fixed :) just open window to air out I am sure you already done that eh.

Lucia, just to be sure, check and see if BBNT lives in the apt. above you! :)

Dang, OB, yer right! Let's see what she says....

Nah, there is no one above me because I am on the top floor. So it would just be the roof. :D

AC vent is still leaking...still waiting for maintenance...puke pan is filling up.

I think you probably need move to other unit in same apartment. :dunno:

Maintenance almost didn't come. I was waiting and waiting and finally I went down to speak to management to ask them what is keeping the maintenance. Apparently there is a communication problem between the management and the maintenance staff. O.O cause maanagement accused me of not letting the maintenance in yesterday and earlier today. I had to tell them, "yes, I did let them come in my apartment yesterday and today". They said, "well the line is dry so there is nothing wrong". I had to get blunt and said, "THE LINE IS DRY BECAUSE I HAD TO TURN THE AC BEFORE THE LEAK RUINED THE CARPET, BUT THIS TIME I AM LEAVING THE AC ON SO Y'ALL CAN SEE THAT I REALLY DO HAVE A LEAK". So, maintenance came back, and they saw the leak (I TOLD YOU SO!) Turned out that the water was NOT getting to the "drain pan" and that there was some holes between the line and the pan and and the water is coming out through these holes instead of going straight to the "drain pan". So they sealed the holes up with some nasty looking wax seal. Hope that does the trick. They said they will recheck on Monday.

Well if I do have to move to different apartment then I hope they give me a first floor one...I am tired of the stairs.

But most likely that won't happen.

Glad that is taken care of! I knew it was something else.. drain pan! dang!
