Does anyone own cellular card for laptop? If so then just post here and discuss about cellular card.

I got cellular card from Verizon with 1 year of contact, I'm waiting for att to improve on 3G and deploy of 3G coverage on other city that where I will go to school in Jan, I'm using and test with everything, it's works so great on Mac, I got 600 kbps to 2.5 mbps on download and 200 kbps to 800 kbps on upload, it depends on area that where's more strength or weak. It's more worth for me when use laptop on road, also useful for use on parking lot during my lunch break at work.

There's my pic of new cellular card (camera from my iPhone).

I had shopping today as well, bought GTA SA for PC and $25 iTunes card.

I had tested with Google Earth, Hulu, Adobe Media Player, Youtube and other websites, many of them are work so good but some of them aren't work so good when download speed was below than 1 mbps.

I used to have Verizon Wireless Broadband Access/National Access PC card for my laptop. I used it for a year.

During my first year, I spent almost 10 hours everyday on the internet. Then all of a sudden the Verizon company had installed some secret program behind my back to boot the computer without my knowledge.

During the boot process everything shut down and restart window operating system. Then when it bring me back to window xp screen, all the files and documents I had opened and worked on had disappeared. It does this every time for couple months until later I had decided to cancel contract and paid the termination fee.

I found they installed two files that program to shut down and reboot laptop. It was in the c/windows/system32 and the folder name prefetch something.
I tried to deleted it. However when I connected online through Verizon PC card again, it reinstall at will.

I just hate Verizon Wireless PC card.

Right now I am not using any PC card. I am using special wifi antenna connect to my laptop by USB which detects strong signal of hot spot wireless internet around 10 miles.

Oh wow, I don't know that.

I don't notice any issue on Mac OS X, I believe that programming on verizon manager can be poor written for Windows, have you contact Verizon about this issue?

It was ok for couple months when I first got it. I think if a person is a heavy user then they would of try to have file that will make the laptop shut down and reboot. Maybe it a way to stop heavy user from going online for long hours.

I have told them in person at the store but I don't care about it anymore because they had ruined my files and documents. I just want to get rid of this junk PC card anyway.

Does would happen to att card too?

I hopefully it won't happen on Mac OS X.

Are you went above than 5 GB? Just wonders.

Oh, got it.

I noticed more WiFi are start secured, damn to Linksys, Netgear, Dlink that released easy installation to set on WEP, WPA or WPA2.

You should look for 802.11 b+g USB Adapter with antenna from Canada. They sell it on Ebay.

Personally, I had gotten verizon aircard for my laptop. I did test it on my laptop and I looked at verizon manager. Technically, I noticed that I got very poor coverage on verizon aircard. The verizon aircard did switch between 1xRTT, EVDO and roaming on verizon aircard that it got worse at here. Next day, I decided to return it to verizon during the trial period.

Now, I got AT&T aircard 2 years ago. I tested it on my laptop. It was not bad signal at here. I am prefer sierra wireless than Novatel Wireless, because sierra wireless is best for the good reception. I got to speak with tech support. They said that I will see either faster EDGE or 3G will coming in Atlanta area soon. I researched about faster EDGE and It will speed up to 1.2 mbps. I am patient to waiting on faster EDGE or 3G network will come in. The tech support said 3G will go to active for faster EDGE.

I will see what will happen either faster EDGE or 3G network....

Oh wow, not every area has good signal at same network but gladly, you just test it before consider to keep or return it on trial day like I did with different phone.

In my area, I got strong signal on my card, for network, Verizon and att are great in my area but 3G on att need improve, however it will improve in later and other city that where I will go college don't have 3G, that make me to pick Verizon. I had hard time to pick between att and Verizon.

My friend own Verizon pc card on her XP laptop for two years and NO PROBLEM so far.

Same idea Sorenson VRS dont make VP-100 and VP-200.

There's no option to rent it but you can find old expresscard card on ebay, also you have pay $60 per month with $35 one time activation fee.

You are better off to find WiFi hotspots.
