The other day I watched all 3 of the Loard of the Rings DVD's. After I was done I decided to take a shot in the dark and pop the bonus DVD's in. These are the DVD's that show the "Behind the scenes", "The making of" and so forth. Even the Out takes had CC. They are rarely Closed Captioned but to my surprise they had CC. This had over 2 hours of bosnus footage and it was all CC. So I popped in the bonus DVD's from the other 2 movies and they also had CC. All in all there was about 7 hours of video to watch with CC that I didn't even know I could enjoy.
I enjoyed it very much. I happen to a magician and I spend a lot of time working on stage acts and behind the scenes of shows. So the "Behind the Scenes" of a movie was great to be able to enjoy with CC. I loved learning how they accomplished all the special effects such as the size of trhe Hobbits compared to the "normal" sized people.
So if you have the LOTR DVD's then pop the bonus features in and you'll likely be able to watch them with CC. A rare treat.
I wish they would all take the time to do this. I'm wondering what steps might have beent taken on this issue. I mean I know orginizations such as NAD might have something to do with this. I don't know if it was the director Peter Jackson that is responsible for this but if he is I'd like find a way to send him a thank you and get everyone else who's deaf or HOH to send him one. Be nice to have at least one director that puts some thought into this.
Also, if any of you know of any other DVD's that have subtitles or closed captioning on their bonus features please share them.
